Nodo Tanzania

Our Green Coffee Beans

At Dodo Tanzania Company Limited, we supply a wide range of green coffee beans, carefully sourced from Tanzania’s renowned coffee regions. Our offerings include specialty, premium, and commodity coffees, all grown under sustainable and ethical practices. About 40% of our coffee falls in the Specialty category, representing the finest Tanzanian Arabica that consistently scores over 80/100 points on the Specialty Coffee Association (SCAA) quality scale.

Just as in other world-class coffee origins, Tanzanian beans are classified by size, weight, and shape, which directly influence the aroma, flavor, and quality of the cup. Larger beans are generally associated with more complex flavors and stronger aroma, making bean size an important grading factor in the market.

Coffee Grades We Offer

AA

This premium grade represents beans with a screen size of about 7.2 millimetres (18/64 of an inch, often referred to as screen size 18). These beans are larger, more aromatic, and command higher prices internationally due to their quality.

AB

Slightly smaller that AA, with a screen size of 6.8 Millimetres (or 17/64 of an inch). On average, 30% of Kenyan coffee is assigned this grade.

PB (Peaberry)

These are unique beans where only one seed develops inside the cherry instead of two. About 10% of Tanzanian coffee falls into this category. Peaberry beans are prized for their vibrant flavor, bright acidity, and enhanced aroma.

E (Elephant Beans)

The rarest grade, representing the largest beans. Elephant beans are highly sought after but occur only in small quantities, making them a unique offering for select buyers.

C

These are smaller than AB, typically with screen sizes 14 and 15. While smaller, they still deliver distinct regional flavor profiles.

TT

Comprising smaller beans separated from the more saleable AA, AB, and E grades. TT still holds market value for blending and specific uses.

T

The smallest grade, often broken beans, which are typically used in local markets or lower-priced blends.

Pricing & Market Dynamics

Pricing for Tanzanian green coffee beans depends on quality grading, international demand, and auction/export dynamics overseen by the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB). As a direct exporter and private buyer, Dodo Tanzania ensures transparent pricing while offering premium value to farmers and clients alike.
