European Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR)
As a key exporter of Tanzanian coffee, Nodo Tanzania is fully committed to meeting the highest international standards, including the landmark European Union Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR). We see this not as a challenge, but as an opportunity to showcase Tanzania’s sustainable farming practices.
What is the EUDR?
The EUDR requires companies, including coffee exporters like us, to prove that their products sold in the EU have not originated from land deforested after December 31, 2020.
How Nodo Tanzania Ensures Compliance:
Our direct sourcing model is the cornerstone of our EUDR strategy. We are working hand-in-hand with our partner farmers and cooperatives to ensure full compliance.
Farm-Level Geolocation
Through our direct relationships, we are efficiently collecting the precise geographic coordinates of the farms and plots where our coffee is grown
Supply Chain Verification
We meticulously document our supply chain from the farm to the port. This data allows us and our international clients to conduct thorough risk assessments and verify that our coffee is 100% deforestation-free.
Farmer Education & Support
We are investing in training programs to help our partner cooperatives understand and implement the data collection practices required by the EUDR, ensuring they remain competitive and connected to the global market.
