About Him.
Douglas Malamsha is the Founder and chief executive officer of NODO Tanzania Limited and also serves as a Director at Tunywe Kahawa Africa Limited. As a passionate coffee connoisseur and seasoned industry expert, Douglas has dedicated over 28 years to the pursuit of excellence in sourcing, processing, marketing, and exporting high-quality Tanzanian coffee.
His career journey spans leadership roles across some of the most respected names in the coffee industry, where he cultivated deep expertise and a global perspective. He served as Dry Coffee Mill Manager at Taylor Winch (T) Ltd – VOLCAFE Tanzania from 1997 to 2003, later becoming General Manager at Rafiki Coffee Ltd – VOLCAFE Tanzania from 2003 to 2015. He also held the position of Director at ESSAB (T) Ltd, a family-owned parchment coffee company, from 2008 to 2014, and served as General Manager at Gee General Ltd from 2015 to 2021 before founding NODO Tanzania.
At NODO Tanzania and Tunywe Kahawa Africa, Douglas leads with a vision to elevate Tanzania’s coffee to global recognition through quality, sustainability, and innovation. His commitment is not only to deliver exceptional coffee but also to empower farming communities and ensure ethical, transparent supply chains from bean to cup.

When he’s not in the field sourcing the finest beans or perfecting roasting techniques, Douglas enjoys playing golf, exploring coffee shops, and experimenting with new brewing methods—a true reflection of his lifelong passion for coffee craftsmanship.
